An insight into the things that interest us
Modern Day Gladiators
The Red Hook Crits are a series of races that take place every year in New York, Barcelona, Milan and London. But these aren’t normal road bike criteriums, these are raced on fixed gear track bikes where the only braking is to stop pedalling.
First Year at Cyclist’s University
Keira McVitty is a first year Pro-Cyclist with the British Women’s UCI Professional team WNT. She featured in our recent Spring Summer’17 lookbook we photographed in Catalunya where she is currently based. We took her aside when the cameras weren’t shooting to ask about her life as a pro.
Capturing the Race
While attending La Résistance in 2016 we met Geoff Waugh, a photographer who was covering the event for British publication, Cyclist Magazine. We had the opportunity to stop and speak with him several times (a top finishing time wasn’t a priority for Podia) and hear some of tales of photographing races.
Chasing the gravel in the French Alps
Gravel grinding events have been around for a long time in the US but with the growth of the gravel genre in Europe, expect to see more and more over here. When the opportunity presented itself for Podia to go and ride one such event in the French Alps, we grabbed it with both hands.
