An insight into the things that interest us
Capturing the Race
While attending La Résistance in 2016 we met Geoff Waugh, a photographer who was covering the event for British publication, Cyclist Magazine. We had the opportunity to stop and speak with him several times (a top finishing time wasn’t a priority for Podia) and hear some of tales of photographing races.
Chasing the gravel in the French Alps
Gravel grinding events have been around for a long time in the US but with the growth of the gravel genre in Europe, expect to see more and more over here. When the opportunity presented itself for Podia to go and ride one such event in the French Alps, we grabbed it with both hands.
Working Hard to Stay Small
There is something very different about how OPEN Cycle works as a company. Founded by Gerard Vroomen (co-founder of Cervélo) and Andy Kessler (former CEO of BMC) and lead by a motto ‘working hard to stay small’, it offers a new approach to cycling.
Photo Competition Results
Between 29th August and 4th September we set a challenge to record the most kilometres in our Strava club to win a section of Podia prizes. We also wanted to see the images that you posted on the Instagram hashtag #podiasummersocial.
Next level passion
Since the very beginnings of Podia, we have always had a deep love for bespoke, handmade bicycle frames and it seems our friend Philippe Joie from Belgium also shares this passion. So much so, that he decided to learn how to make his very own frame.
