In search of the best roads to cycle on. A 98km loop around the eastern Tatra Mountains that crosses the border into Slovakia.
Start the loop at Polana Sosny in Sromowce Wyżne, which will offer a good place to finish with food. The majority of climbing is achieved over gradual ascents in the first half of the ride. The first descent to Slovenska Ves is a highlight with newly laid tarmac, a distinct lack of cars and fantastic views. The climbs to Ždiar in Slovakia and between Jurgów and Łapszanka in Poland will prove quite steep and long but will make the final descent all the more enjoyable, passing through sleepy villages and then along the lakeside before reaching a cold beer and food.
The alternative shown on the map with a red dotted line is possible and leads through Czarna Góra and Felsztyn. If you are feeling strong and want to add distance to the original route take a turn before Brzegi.
