On the June edition of Podia Roadventures we had the pleasure to meet a Stelbel for the very first time. It was so good there was never a moment’s doubt it should feature in the Podia Machines section of our blog.
Stelbel are a very interesting new/old brand of handmade steel bikes from Italy. We will be featuring more about them in the coming weeks, but as a teaser, feast your eyes on this Antenore.
Made from their own customised Columbus XCr stainless steel with a thin seat tube and subtle clamping system, paired with a titanium seatpost, it offers the visual delight of an integrated seat mast with the flexibility of a standard post.
Wojtek’s choice of colour is also notable (and not too dissimilar to our Nova Jersey) with the Chris King mango headset matching the subtle use of orange in the paintwork.
This is a frame made for modern cycling. With a 1”1/2 steerer in a 46mm headtube along with a 31.6mm seat tube its looks are right up to date. With clearance for 30mm tires it is also capable of accepting wider tire combinations for a smoother riding experience.
The bike features a Campagnolo Record EPS groupset with wheels from Italian custom carbon specialists WR Compositi (more about them also coming soon!)
If you like being surrounded by beautiful bikes, then Podia Roadventures is a great chance to do so. We have just started taking bookings for the June 2018 edition. Check the Travel pages for more information.
