Portland Take Over Part 2

Posted in Machines

Some say the heart and sole of cycling is in Italy, but we think the head might be in America, and more precisely in Portland. With so many great frame builders and interesting companies coming out of there it is no surprise.

Take for example Hugh’s Lolo from Portland based Breadwinner Cycles. Most high end, custom bikes feature a Chris King (of Portland obvs.) component in some form or another, but a custom bike from Portland isn’t actually allowed to leave the state of Oregon unless it has a full compliment of CK kit, as we can see on this Lolo.*

A special feature of the bike includes the ultra-light Columbus Life oversized tubing which combined with the modern geometry give the bike a light and responsive feel.

Hugh went for an Ultegra Di2 groupset, which he then added a satellite shifter on the flats for easy changing while climbing. Take a closer look at the satellite shifter and see that Hugh modified it back to it’s smallest, simplest form for a streamlined look.

Custom bottle cages from the Portland company and a stunning headbadge complete this great bike.

*We don’t know if this is true, but we do suspect it.
