Extraordinary gravel riding in a historically unique region
Beskid Niski, Poland & Slovakia
2020 Dates Coming Soon
A gravel bike takes the meaning ‘off the beaten track’ to a whole new level, it allows us to explore further and deeper than ever before. But finding the best places to ride can be tricky.
We have been fascinated with the history of Beskid Niski for a long time and the gravel bike makes for the perfect machine to explore this region.
Kraków, Int. Airport
4 days riding / 4 nights
Beskid Niski lies to the south-east of Poland along the border with Slovakia. The region has an interesting history and saw a significant population reduction in the 20th century.
Remnants and remains of ancient settlements and villages are nestled between mountains with tracks and trails often forgotten and uncared for.
Timber, ‘onion-domed’ Orthodox churches, many of which are now UNESCO protected, await your discovery in charming valleys.
Due to the low population and abundance of forests, the region is home to some impressive wildlife; from deer, wolves, wildcat and bears, to an array birds like golden eagles.

To help make your Podiaventure an unforgettable experience we have teamed up with some of the best cycling companies around.
Our ride guides and support vehicles use the great tracking features of the Wahoo ELEMNT GPS computer. A wireless GPS bike computer, with easy to access side buttons and large screen displaying all necessary data and route maps.
Wahoo ELEMNT GPS connects with your smartphone, allows you to customize settings and links to your favourite cycling apps and wireless sensors.
Our guides use it to navigate the routes. We also have a unit in our service vehicle, so the driver can always track down location of the group. Guests of Podiaventures can test Wahoo ELEMNT GPS during rides.
British bike brand which debuted in 2001 with the Day One bike under the Ridgeback brand. Due to its snowballing popularity, Genesis broke out in its own right in 2006. Since then it’s bike range has expanded and now includes road, mountain, cyclo-cross, gravel, and kids bikes.
Genesis is well known for their use of steel tubing and an ethos for function over form. It supports a UCI Professional cycling team Madison Genesis, which races on their steel Volare and carbon Zero machines.
We have teamed up with Genesis and have a fleet of their bikes ready for rent. If you do not feel like traveling with your own bike for the Podiaventure, we will be able to offer you a Genesis machine tailored to your needs.
This Belgian brand, originally Morgan Oils, came to life in 1994 when a former mechanic of the Lotto team asked to produce oil for bikes. After extensive testing of samples, they were fine-tuned and Morgan Oils started sponsoring the Belgian Lotto and French Casino teams.
Soon after their legendary blue chain cleaner was developed and hence Morgan Blue was born. Since then the range of products extended and from 2014 it includes more than 68 items for the bike and the rider.
Everything is made in-house to exacting standards offering the highest level of performance. During Podiaventures we use a variety of Morgan Blue cleaning products to keep guests bikes pristine ahead of every ride as well as offering samples of warm up oils and massage creams for the riders tired legs.
Well-known British brand Brooks has been manufacturing with cyclists in mind since 1866. Under their iconic logo you can find their famous leather saddles, still handmade in Europe, as well as a wide range of backpacks, cycling bags, helmets and accessories.
For Podiaventure guests we have a range of Brooks C13 saddles to test on rides.
The C13 utilises the same vulcanised natural rubber and organic cotton top of the Cambium line, yet weighs 150g less than the popular C15 model. This is accomplished through a continuous carbon rail that eliminates performance-resistant contact points and saves weight.
Additionally, we are also able to offer a discount for any purchases made on the Brooks online shop.
Nutrition and hydration during Podiaventures is included and contains a variety of food products delivered by Czech brand Chimpanzee. We have tested all of their ranges during numerous trips, rides and adventures and guarantee not only that they taste good, but also deliver all necessary and healthy nutrition needed during any ride.
Chimpanzee is honest, all-natural, hydration and nutrition made from real foods. Free of additives, artificial sweeteners, trans fats, chemicals and GMO’s. Among their bars, chews, powders and gels are options for vegetarians and vegans as well as gluten free riders.
Many past Podiaventures guests liked Chimpanzee so much, that they would try and take home whatever was left after the trip.
For the demanding terrain of Gravelventure we have selected the Genesis road plus category bike; Fugio.
It benefits from Mjolnir frame and carbon fork and 12mm thru axles front and rear. It can run with smaller 650b wheels with enough clearance to accept much larger tyres. The rental bike comes with Clement X’Plor MSO 50c rubber that will keep you comfortable regardless of the road and track condition. The build is completed with SRAM 1x Apex groupset.
Please let us know in advance whether you want to rent a bike. We will be able to give you rental price upon request as well as prepare a suitable bike for you.

I think the expression “off the beaten path” sums up the whole trip quite well. The sense of freedom, wildlife, mixture of conditions and terrain we rode on and especially the company of like-minded and really cool people – all these aspects added up to unforgettable experience, and quite possibly the best couple of days on the bike for me. The Gravelventure in Beskid Niski was a trip for the books. The terrain and trails in the area surely must have been specifically put on this earth for the sole purpose of gravel riding. The time and effort that went into planning the routes and scouting the (mostly un-mapped) trails before the trip were second to none, and Piotr’s knowledge of the local area is the sort of thing you simply cant put a price on.Rob, UKBeskid Niski May 2018
Technical climbs, challenging descents, rolling gravel roads, river crossings and pushing bikes up muddy mountains; that’s what “venture” in the word “Gravelventures” stands for! What a great experiance in the best company in scenic Hidden Europe.Constantin, GermanyBeskid Niski May 2018
I was very happy with the trip as a whole, it made me unwind and calm down as my heart rate went up on those steep gravel roads. The thing that fascinated me the most, was the very unspoiled nature and wilderness, it really gave the ride a very adventurous feeling.Benjamin, GermanyBeskid Niski May 2018

I am lucky enough to ride in many different places. The first time I rode in Beskid Niski, I knew it was something special. From that moment I knew I wanted to bring other people to see it.Max, UKPodia Co-Founder
